What the maker says (6)
- Good for
Similar to other Bambu CF Filaments, these outstanding mechanical properties make it an ideal choice for printing fixtures, clamps, automotive and mechanical components and various structural and engineering parts that used in dry environments.
Bambu Lab, Bambu Filament Technical Data Sheet - PA6-CFp. 1 - Benefits
The carbon fiber reinforcement provides significantly high stiffness and strength properties in dry environments and maintains exceptional heat resistance and impact resistance.
Bambu Lab, Bambu Filament Technical Data Sheet - PA6-CFp. 1 - Supports and removal
Support Support for PA/PET
Bambu Lab, Bambu Filament Technical Data Sheet - PA6-CFp. 2 - Odour and emissions
Odor Odorless
Bambu Lab, Bambu Filament Technical Data Sheet - PA6-CFp. 3 - Moisture sensitivity
Bambu PA6-CF will experience a decrease in strength and stiffness after absorbing water, making it not recommended for printing models with high requirements for strength, stiffness, and dimensional stability, especially thin and elongated models. The prints of PA6-CF usually become tougher and more resistant to impacts, drops, and collisions when they get damp; you can dampen and soften the prints in advance if the model requires high toughness.
Bambu Lab, PA6-CF official maker product pagep. 1: exact product features/description/application tips, source text line 151 - Printing advice
Fully impregnating the surface of the prints with paint, wax and other waterproof coatings can inhibit water absorption and prevent them from becoming soft.

Engineered for Demanding Applications Fiberon™ PA6-CF20 is a carbon fiber reinforced PA6 (Nylon 6) filament containing 20% carbon fiber, designed for exceptional mechanical strength, stiffness, and heat resistance. The carbon fiber reinforcement dramatically improves rigidity and dimensional stability, making it ideal for functional prototypes, industrial tooling, automotive, and composite manufacturing applications.
Polymaker, FIBERON PA6 CF20 official maker product pagep. 1: exact product Description/Printing Requirements/FAQ; source text line 202 - Pitfalls and limitations
Moisture conditioning refers to allowing the print to absorb moisture. This is inevitble since nylons are hygroscopic, but you can expedite the process by keeping the print in a high humidity climate, or submerging them in water, for 48 hours. All of our test specimens were annealed at 100˚C for 16 hours, and then immerged in water at 60˚C for 48 hours. The average moisture content of specimens is 2.57%.

What the maker says (8)
- Benefits
It is characterised by excellent mechanical properties, enhanced heat resistance and reduced warping behavior, as well as very good chemical resistance.
Extrudr, TECHNICAL DATA SHEET DURAPRO PA6 CFp. 1 - Warping and shrinkage
Low warping
Extrudr, TECHNICAL DATA SHEET DURAPRO PA6 CFp. 1 - Moisture sensitivity
The carbon fiber reinforcement enables improved tensile strength and high stiffness, while its higher moisture absorption contributes to increased impact resistance.
Extrudr, TECHNICAL DATA SHEET DURAPRO PA6 CFp. 1 - Nozzle wear
Hardened Nozzle Yes
Extrudr, TECHNICAL DATA SHEET DURAPRO PA6 CFp. 1 - Nozzle wear
Note: Due to the abrasive nature of the carbon fibers, a hardened nozzle (e.g., hardened steel or ruby nozzle) is strongly recommended.
Extrudr, TECHNICAL DATA SHEET DURAPRO PA6 CFp. 1 - Printing advice
Additionally, a nozzle diameter of at least 0.6 mm should be used to prevent clogging and ensure smooth extrusion.
Extrudr, TECHNICAL DATA SHEET DURAPRO PA6 CFp. 1 - Pitfalls and limitations
DuraPro PA6 CF offers notably higher impact resistance than DuraPro PA12 CF, including no-break performance in unnotched testing. However, it absorbs significantly more moisture (9% vs. 1.6% at saturation), meaning it requires more careful storage and drying to maintain performance. DuraPro PA6 CF is also not electrically insulating, unlike DuraPro PA12, due to its carbon fiber content.
Extrudr, DURAPRO PA6 CF official maker product pagep.1: Exact product FAQ/highlight, source text line100 - Pitfalls and limitations
No. Carbon fiber reinforced filaments, including DuraPro PA6 CF, are not certified for food contact.
